Collect and register pet souls
Kill the relevant monsters for their pet souls, then inspect the collection’s required count before registering or upgrading.

These are the Global launch-reference requirements. Dungeon mid-boss souls and free season-track chests are other listed sources.
Broader collection adds owned stats. Special pets are an exception; do not buy one for an assumed combat bonus. A client-data catalog entry is not proof that the pet is currently obtainable.
Understand Genus and Analyze
Pet upgrades add Insight experience to the pet’s own Genus. The reference describes five boards with nine slots, with slot N opening at Insight N.
An unlocked Analyze costs 4 applicable Soul Crystals and 1,000 Kina before locks. Locking lines increases subsequent costs, so inspect the displayed total before each roll.
Choose a spending strategy
Two cited Global approaches differ: one waits until Insight 10 before locking; another starts seeking selected lines at 9. These are budget strategies, not one proven optimum.
Check your active preset and keep another useful preset before rolling away a result you may still need. Avoid treating pet registration, Soul Crystals and Genus Analyze as the same resource action.
